One of the things about not working is that I get to work with my husband. Which means, since Saturday, I have helped to put in a landscape andspread 28 cubic yards of mulch.

I have never been so glad to see a mulch fork stowed away.

I've also been working on that slip-covered chair, which is SO close to complete. If there is anything that makes me prouder than spreading 28 yards of mulch, it's figuring out how to make that slipcover.

And, we're going camping this weekend...this will be the first time first time roughing it for JR and I together...in a tent. When I was growing up, we camped almost every weekend in the summer. I loved it. So, while I'm very excited about going, JR needs some convincing...I think he's worried about coffee. I have the equipment sorted and boxed, the menu planned and the shopping done, which has taken all week. A week of planning for two nights of camping.

Today, I finished a few pennant banners to decorate our site.

Because after all, if the campsite is pretty, it won't matter how the coffee tastes, right?

Earlier this week, my mom hosted an annual garden luncheon at one of her favorite places. It was perfectly lovely, even though it was cold that afternoon. The gardens are delightful, and spending girl time with family and friends over an outdoor lunch was special.

I left the luncheon at the Country Cottage inspired, full, and happy to have spent the afternoon there.

And that's what I've been up to!

  1. I'm a little confused. Well, maybe a lot. I thought you were working about 3 months ago. Then later you said you were starting a new job. Are you a temp worker?
