Goodness, thanks ALL of you for your lovely comments. I have to apologize for the delay in letting Angela know that she won the pattern. I had a little knee surgery on Friday and I've been sort of lazing around since then, not feeling much motivated to do anything. Yesterday, I was hobbling around, starting to feel the need to accomplish something and decided to attack the other Simplicity A1738 "Jacket as Vest." Since this pattern goes together so quickly, it was a manageable feat to work on it it bits and pieces throughout the day and before I knew it, by evening, I had this cute version made!
This one is a win/win. Jacket, Vest, a perfect pattern made even more perfect! I love it styled with a simple tee top and this maxi skirt, Simplicity 1782 that I made last weekend. (under that skirt is a big ole' knee...peekaboo). The skirt is made from a silky print from Joann's. It's floaty and wafty. I like wearing it.
Or styled with a simple tunic and ankle pants.
I do like this little knit vest.
That looks fantastic on you, Lynne and love the maxi skirt. Fabulous job.
ReplyDeleteLynne, It is perfect for you. You are so cute.
ReplyDeleteCute! Love the skirt too!
ReplyDeleteLove the vest, and loved the jacket too. That really is a great pattern. I have no confidence sewing knits - but you make it look all so easy!
ReplyDeleteLooks great as a vest - very stylish! Hope your knee improves quickly...J
ReplyDeleteWow! I was so surprised to see my name here -- thanks so much! (And yes, I'm feeling pressure trying to imitate your great versions:)
ReplyDeleteVery cute vest! I also really love the fabric you used for the skirt.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!
I love it dear, it is so very lovely.
ReplyDeleteI like it too. I'll be looking for that pattern!
ReplyDeleteLovely vest, Lynne. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteI like the long skirt combo and with the pants too. I have long skirts and I never wear them anymore, must wait for the fashion cycle turn around.
ReplyDeleteA boo-boo kiss for the knee!
I want you to be my Royal Tailor....I LOVE the vest so much LYNNE!!! I want to buy a long skirt right now for summer
ReplyDeleteOh so cute! My fabulous sister, you almost make me want to get my sewing machine back out. I can sew, and really rather well, but REALLY don t't enjoy it. Go figure, you must have inherited those genes ;-p
ReplyDeleteAnother great outfit Lynn! I love the vest with the maxi skirt. So cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat vest! Love the way it adds a little bit extra to your two outfits!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking vest and I like how versatile it is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the pattern numbers - I've been looking for a summer skirt. Glad to hear you're recuperating well - remember to do what you're told & not over do!!
ReplyDeleteAwww man, feel better soon! Hope your knee heals quickly!
ReplyDeleteI like the vest best with the dark top and skinny trousers-- cute!
I hope you heal quickly Lynne. You are looking amazing especially in those skinny trousers.
ReplyDeleteThe vest is really great, you look terrific in it. That's such a cool pattern idea, a vest and jacket in one!
ReplyDeleteHope you've got some nice easy things to satisfy the "make something" itch while your knee heals! ;)
love your skirt!
ReplyDeleteOMG i want to put a big cum stain on that skirt
