The Best Things in Life are Free

They say the best things in life are free, and because we know it to be true that "you can't take it with you,"
I am a firm believer in re-using, re-making, upscaling, re-doing.

While one man's junk is another man's treasure, the things most worth having are sunny November afternoons, and a hard day's work,

Big smiles and morning conversations.
Afternoon naps, the smell of babies.
The grace of God ,
And stolen kisses.

All free, worth more than every treasure found on the roadside.

(From the Roadside, top to bottom: Bright yellow wooden shelf, repainted and snuggled into my sewing room.  Vintage hammered aluminum tray for the camper. Sturdy old drying rack. Vintage Bright's wine jug. White painted bench for the garden.)

"For we have brought nothing into the world, and so we cannot take anything out of it. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content."

  1. I like how you stored your fabric, you can see it all at a glance. I need to get mine out of the drawers and organized too.

  4. Hi Lynne, what a gorgeous post. I can see why you would want to plant a kiss on that sweet cheek. What a cutie pie! It is a very true saying. We sat around the table with our family last night laughing and talking over a simple meal. We have never had much money but lots of love :-) Blessings from New Zealand
